Dig in & Discover: Home Building FAQs

Have questions about our building process? We’ve got answers. Here are some in-depth FAQs to help you understand what to expect when you build with us:
What type of site survey do you conduct, and what information does it provide?
We arrange a detailed contour survey performed by a registered surveyor. This survey provides critical information about your block’s slope, orientation, boundaries, and any easements or restrictions. This information is essential for accurate design and engineering of your home’s foundation and ensures compliance with local council regulations.
While we have a team of trusted and qualified tradespeople, we understand you may have existing relationships. We’re happy to discuss incorporating your preferred contractors on a case-by-case basis, provided they meet our licensing, insurance and quality standards. This will need to be agreed upon before the contract is signed.
We handle the entire council approval process for you. This includes preparing and lodging all necessary documentation, such as architectural plans, engineering reports and BASIX certificates. The typical timeframe for council approvals is 4-6 weeks, but this can vary depending on the complexity of your project and the specific council requirements.
While we strive to maintain our 22-week construction timeline, unforeseen circumstances like extended periods of wet weather can sometimes cause delays. We’ll keep you informed throughout the process, and your contract will outline provisions for such situations. Your dedicated site supervisor will work to minimise any impacts and keep your project on track.
You have complete control over the selection of your finishes and fixtures. We’ll provide guidance and recommendations, but the final choices are yours. You’ll be able to choose from a wide range of options for paint colours, tiles, countertops, flooring, tapware, and other fittings to personalise your home. We have samples available to view in our office.
Your handover package is a comprehensive binder containing all the important documents related to your new home. This includes warranties for appliances and workmanship, operating manuals for systems like air conditioning and hot water, contact details for our tradespeople, and your final occupation certificate. We’re here to support you, so we’re always available to answer any questions you may have after you move in.
